Reverse Prospecting as a Buyer's Agent

Reverse Prospecting as a Buyer's Agent

Reverse Prospecting is primarily a tool for listing agents, but benefits the buyer’s agent, too as it helps to close the gap between buyers and sellers. Listing Agents more easily find other agents with buyers looking for properties like the ones they represent for sellers. Agents representing potential buyers become more aware of available properties matching their buyers' criteria.

To make a saved search available for reverse prospecting, select My Matrix and then choose Auto Email.

A list of your auto email searches appears.

Click the down arrow to the left of the auto email search.

In the bar appearing just below the name of the search, click Settings.

On the settings screen, scroll down to the Settings section and look for "Show this contact in Reverse Prospecting results".  Putting a check in this box will allow listing agents to contact you (never your client) about this search.

Click Save.

If one of your contacts has viewed a property and marked it as a Favorite, through the client search in the Portal, the Listing Agent may send you an email similar to the one below:

Click the link in the email to view additional information such as:

  • Contact’s name
  • Date Portal was visited and viewed
  • # of views

NOTE: Reverse Prospecting is completely anonymous for your buyers. List agents are not given your customer names or contact information.

If you use the Mortgage Pre-Approved slider in your client information screen, this fact will show to the listing agent and is a great way to further enhance the speed at which you can communicate with listing agents motivated to sell their client's property!
